Sylvari Fashion Ideas #5- Scout of Rivendell

Scout of Rivendell- protector of Imladris and the Trollshaws

Preview of outfit:

First of all, I would like to apologise for the hiatus my sister and I have taken. We have been very busy with personal matters that we had to handle, hence we were unable to log in to LOTRO and make new outfit ideas. However, we have a lot more free time than usual now so we are able to continue creating outfit ideas for you guys! So I have you enjoy this one :D

Intro:

So this outfit is pretty self-explanatory from the name I have given it. This outfit is inspired by Rivendell or Imladris. Rivendell is a sanctuary of peace and prosperity, where many high-elves dwell. Hence, it must be well protected from the outside intrusions of enemies and those who seek to harm it. Based on Tolkien-lore, Rivendell is protected by Elrond and his ring of power (Vilya); however, it also uses people to scout and protect the nearby surroundings (the Trollshaws and Eastern Lone-lands)- hence the inspiration for this outfit!

Outfit:

This outfit is very simplistic and uses very common gear. As a scout, the garments shouldn't be too bulky/heavy, so I gave this outfit a lighter and weightless look but still considerably durable.

As this is an elven-themed outfit, the main dominant colours of the outfit is gold and white; the other colours of the outfit are brown and purple. It is a bit odd because at first, I thought it would be more of a Lothlorien scout outfit, so I guess it could work for both realms!

The outfit is modelled on a woman (Celondess herself), which is stupid I know because is a scout from Rivendell- hence should be an elf. But, I used her because of her lore backstory and because she is my only hunter character. This outfit can definitely work on an elf-maiden.

Upper Body:

The gears I used for the upper body has very fine and intricate details to it, which I quite love! The contrast between the gold and white sections really complement each other out. The thin gold detailing also makes it look more elegant. There's a bit of a metallic look to it, but it still remains within the 'light' category armour-wise.

The shoulders are very minimalistic. I love the 'layered' look to them and it actually fits in well with the sleeve design of the top gear- maintaining the brown/gold colour.

In terms of weapons, I gave it a spear and a small dagger. The dagger I chose has an elven design/curve to it; this and the spear has gold bandings/sections. The weapon choice can be changed by your personal preference as long as the weapons have gold details. Lastly, you cannot forget about the bow. The bow I used has some gold details to it as well and is not as slender. It has a metallic look to it as well

I gave the outfit a golden hood. This is probably my most favourite part of the outfit. Some cloaks in LOTRO are hooded, but I decided to not use one because the hoods look too small and they look a bit weird. So I used a hood that goes to the cap/helmet gear slot. By doing this, you can have to option to hide/unhide the hood whenever you want so that the outfit has variations when you play around. Whenever you are 'scouting' or hunting, you can have the hood down; if you are resting then have the hood up!

Without the hood:

Back:

In the back profile, I gave the outfit a quiver to hold the arrows. I opted out using a cloak so that you can clearly see the gears better from the back and the weapons This further solidifies the 'scout' look to the outfit as I'm sure the scout would be a long-range fighter than a close-range one.

Of course, you will also be able to see the bow and the spear (if you decide to use one): this will allow the scout to fight close-range if necessary.

Lower Body:

Just like the upper body gear, the lower body gear has gold and white details with a hint of purple on the side. This kind of gives the outfit a bit of a feminine touch (I'm not too sure how this outfit can work with a male model due to their bulkier physique...)

The boots I used is very simple and actually has a rustic aspect to it. It has a leather surface so it looks very rugged. Shows that the scout travels quite a lot. The thick, folded upper rim of the boots also makes it look so much better as well as it makes the legs look less 'skinny'.

Outfit in Action:

Here are a few shots of the outfit in action. I took the model around the Trollshaws to do her daily tasks.

Speaking with the guard of Imladris to be more wary and alert...

Tracking creatures that have crossed the Ford of Bruinen...

Spying and attacking Angmarim enemies in the Trollshaws...

Camping out...

Overall:

As stated earlier, this outfit uses many common gear; most of the gear can be acquired from a tailor- hence this outfit makes is budget-friendly. There are many tailor gears that have the same design as the ones I've used so you have many options to choose from! So find a tailor to make you some of the gears.

Most of the gears do not require any dyes. The head and back gear (hood and quiver) is dyed with GOLD DYE and the shoulders which are dyed WALNUT BROWN. If dying is required then use GOLD DYE.
