House Sylvari's History and Members
(House Sylvari is a fictional family created in LOTRO. It is not our actual family name xD)
House Sylvari's Sigil (Drawn Ver.) created by Alautriel Sylvari
The name 'Sylvari' originated from the word "Sylvanus" which is the name of a Norse God of Nature and the Wild, the 'ri' in the end was just added to make is sound more elvish. Hence it is an Elven family.
House Sylvari Oath
The Light of the Eldar, ever so bright and glorious, will one day return to take back what the darkness stole. It is our duty to prepare the world for it.
The stars of Varda will shine our paths as we walk on these lands, even with chains on our feet and the yoke of fading in our shoulders.
We will drive away the dark that befell the Children of Yavanna. This the second of our duty, our role.
Those who stand against us, will face our might for we will not tolerate those who seek blight.
Our grace, valour and honour shall spring out the good in all things as their is beauty in all that is created by the One. Through this the world will one day be glad and sing.
But till the sea calls us or till our breath stops flowing.
This is our song, for all people to know.

The ancestors of House Sylvari were High Elves of Eregion. They served Lady Galadriel during her time there as her counselors and warriors. They lived peacefully under the rule of Celebrimbor.
But after the destruction of Eregion by Sauron and his fell armies, survivors of the family followed Galadriel and travelled across the Misty Mountains. They made Lothlorien their home. There they continued to serve as healers, warriors, teachers and counselors to the wood elves. However, they were not as content with their lives there. So they left the Golden Woods and migrated to the forest of Greenwood the Great after the Last Alliance of Elves and Men to which many of their members participated in. There they built a sanctuary, just south of Amon Lanc and officially declared their household as 'Sylvari'.
The members of the family, protected and nurtured the lands around them for hundreds of years, tending the animals and greenery with love, compassion and spirit. Gradually they gained the ability to commune and link with nature, even further than any normal elf could do. They were blessed by the forests.
After many peaceful years, the evil returned to Middle-Earth once again, and the darkness inhabited Amon Lanc renaming it as Dol Guldur. They tried with all their power to counter this evil but it was futile, even with their proficiency with nature. No spell, incantation, bow, sword nor shield could counter Sauron's fell lieutenants and minions. House Sylvari had no choice but to flee from the creeping darkness that corrupted the now called 'Mirkwood'. All the good they had done and the things they had built, all lay ruin to this day.
Elrond Half-Elven, Lord of Rivendell heard of what had happened, although he was still uncertain of the evil that befell Mirkwood. Imladris was House Sylvari's next stop with Lord Elrond's invitation, so that we may seek refuge and offer him counsel and information. There they stayed most of their lives till the present. In its valleys and humble abodes, new generations of members were given birth to and some were unexpectedly adopted.
House Sylvari Members are also found around different corners of Middle Earth such as the Bree-Lands (most of Eriador), Moria, Rohan and Gondor and there they continue to protect the forest around the lands and help the Free Peoples of Middle-Earth to combat Sauron and help Frodo destroy the One Ring ones and for all!
House Sylvari promises to uphold these values, till their last days in Middle-Earth or till Sauron is defeated, both Elves and Men members of the family. House Sylvari also rule a subsidiary kinship known as the Dragonborns

House Sylvari Seats of Power
Barad Angol
Barad Angol means Fortress of Magic in Sindarin. It is the seat of power for Tharadain and Aeltauriel, Lord and Lady Paramount of House Sylvari (current rulers).
Barad Angol's history dates back from the fall of Arnor during the early stages of the Third Age. During the reign of Arveleg, the eighteenth King of Arnor, Lord Tharadain resided in Lindon at the behest of Elrond Halfelven. However, Angmar began to advance against Arthedain and Cardolan, after taking Rhudaur. Lord Tharadain offered his services to the king and became one of the leaders of an elven contingent from Lindon that assisted King Arveleg to defend what remained of Arnor. They helped in fortifying the Weather Hills and Amon Sul for many years, driving back the forces of Angmar.
For this service, King Arveleg granted Lord Tharadain a small piece of land near Bree, just south of the Midgewater Marsh, as a reward for his service. Sadly in the year 1409 of the Third Age, Amon Sul was taken and destroyed by Angmar's forces and King Arveleg was killed in battle.
After the fall of Angmar in TA 1975, Lord Tharadain used this granted land to build a small fortress for his house. The fortress was built of men, as a sign of respect for King Arveleg who gave him the land; hence the architecture was not of Elves. He made it a place of high learning, where his family and his followers can have a safe place to study- especially anything that regard high powers and magic.
Lord Tharadain then named the land and fortress as Barad Angol and made it his seat of power alongside his wife. A settlement then rose around Barad Angol. From this day, Barad Angol is the main base of operations for House Sylvari in Eriador.
Duvenostirion
Duvenostirion means Western Tower in Sindarin- aptly named due to being situated in Ered Luin (west of Middle Earth). This is the seat of power for Thamberas, Lady Apparent (Heir) of House Sylvari, alongside her sister Andrielain, Lady of House Sylvari.
Duvenostirion was built during the early stages of the Third Age, just after the Last Alliance of Elves and Men- hence it was built first to that of Barad Angol. Concurrently, during this time, House Sylvari migrated from Lothlorien to the Greenwood after years of service to Lady Galadriel. Many of House Sylvari's members participated in the Last Alliance; some were grievously wounded and scarred which made them at risk of further diminishing. Hence, Lady Aeltauriel initiated the construction of Duvenostirion to act as a small haven for her members where they can rest and recover and be as close to Lindon (and Mithlond) as possible if they desired to leave Middle-Earth for the Blessed Lands; she did not want them to remain in the Greenwood as it may affect their fea. It is a place of serenity, peace and prosperity- partly due to the protection and preservation cast by Lady Aeltauriel's lesser ring of power. Highly dominated by elven architecture in contrast to Barad Angol, Duvenostirion has a much more elegant and feminine look to it: made of white stone and marble and surrounded by lush greenery and flora.
As the Third Age progressed, the tower eventually became a base of operations for western dealings House Sylvari had to oversee. Lord Tharadain and Lady Aeltauriel gave Lady Thamberas and Andrielain full sovereignty over Duvenostirion. Lady Thamberas also had to watch over Duillond, the neighbouring city and act as its regent lady.

Celondess Sylvari-
I am Celondess, a hunter from Rohan. When I was only a small girl, I grew up in the town of Floodwend, south of the Wold. How I still remember it's beautiful streets by the creeks, it's calm waters before stone bridges and the magnificent Mead hall. It was my home. Before the war came to Rohan, I lived peacefully with my mother, father and big brother. We lived happily in Floodwend and enjoyed the tranquillity our Lord provided us. We did what any family back then do. I would help my mother around the house, cooking, tailoring, cleaning and did what most women did back in those days, whilst my brother and father tended to the more brutal and hard labour. We weren't too poor or too rich, and we helped one another in times of need, including those dearest and close to us. But things changed so quickly in the eyes of a little girl with a fell swoop of a sword. When I blossomed into womanhood, news of Sauron and his dark armies marched towards neighbouring lands. We were scared, and we were in fear that one day he will come to Rohan and destroy us all. People left Floodwend and migrated to safer lands. We did not. My brother and I decided to take actions into our own hands. My father was a skilled warrior and served for the Thane of Floodwend. At first, he did not like the idea of me, a woman, fighting in the war. But I managed to persuade him. He taught us what he had known from experience, how to fight our enemy and how to use our surroundings against them. My brother went down the path as a skilled guardian, using the shield and sword to guard himself and those he wanted to protect, which was unusual for a Rohirim. However, unlike my brother I became proficient through the use of a short bow, shooting down our enemies before they could even touch us. For 2 years we trained hard and the end results were something to be proud of. One day Orcs and goblins decided to attack Floodwend, and that was our calling. To defend our home no matter the cost. It was a long, bloody battle and in the end, we were victorious. It was my first taste of what real war was. But our victory was short-lived. Our Thane died during the battle and my father was mortally wounded fighting alongside him. It killed me to see my father suffer, and not only him, but also my people. Mourning and weeping was the only sound I could hear that day. My mother was killed in battle too with a shaft of a goblin archer... My brother and I did not celebrate that day. Our lives changed from a happy family to a broken one. We neither spoke of our mother and father as we feared it will only bring us grief and suffering. One fortunate night, we heard the news that Elrond Halfelven, the elven lord of Rivendell are trying to drive the forces of darkness away from The North and Rhovanion. That was our second calling. Through much deliberation my brother and I decided to travel to the Last Homely house to be of aid and with enthusiasm we got there only after a few weeks. This was to start anew, with a fresh new purpose. Our time there at Rivendell was eventful. I met an elven lady named Alautriel Sylvari and her family. She was such a charming, charismatic and powerful elf, and from there on she became my sister. She taught me everything to know there is about Middle-Earth, the elves and all the knowledge Imladris had to offer. House Sylvari learnt of my past and with their kind hearts have decided to adopt me to their family. I became skilled with the arts of the High Elves in just a few months and became fluent in Sindarin and Quenya in a year or two. Alautriel and I became sworn sisters and I became Celondess Sylvari. Elrond then sent Alautriel and I to a quest. To go to Eriador and help the free peoples there. I did not want to leave Rivendell, it was serene and peaceful. It was almost like my home with its rushing waterfalls and pristine rivers. But I knew out there, outside the hills of the valley is a land of desolation and destruction. The same destruction that killed my family and burned my home town. Alautriel and I departed once for Bree. My brother was also sent out on a mission and he departed for Gondor. But to our unlikely misfortune, on our way to the Lone Lands we were ambushed by a group of bandits. I was knocked out by one of them as I tried to reach for my bow. The next time I regained consciousness we were imprisoned in a cell and a man named Strider was outside the bars fighting off the bandits. There my journey began.....
My mother and father lived peacefully in Imladris the Last Homely House east of the sea. Since I was a little girl I have been fascinated with the world outside the valley. So I trained. I trained with the bow that my father carved me from mallorn tree, with the string made from the hair of my elven ancestors. Great disaster struck when Angmar rose once more and burned the lands of Eriador. This was my calling. Elrond called for many strong warriors from different countries where I met a friend named Celondess, another hunter from the country of Rohan. She told me her story that her town of Floodwend was bombarded by those orcs. With my new found friend we trained and travelled as blood sisters. We were set a task by Elrond, we had to travel to the Bree-lands and aid the rangers of the North push back the forces of evil. Celondess and I were travelling in the lone-land when she suddenly disappeared. While on the quest to find my blood sister, I was attacked by a pack of goblins, barely making it out alive; I had to flee to Ered Luin and seek comfort in the Elven refuge of Celondim. I am not experienced enough, I am not strong enough, but I will get stronger, become wiser. I will find my blood sister. That's a promise.

Angethel Sylvari-
Unlike the most of my kin I am not of elf-kind, but of man. I was only a simple bard, performing music in the Prancing Pony for a low-wage. It was enough money to provide me a simple home at Beggar's Alley and give me the necessities I need to live. One day in a cold, rainy day, I was travelling across Southern Bree to get to the Forsaken Inn, when I heard a bear's roar, the scream of a crow, and a piercing cry of an eagle emitting from the nearby woods. To my curiosity, I unmounted my steed and scouted the area where the eerie sounds of animals were coming from. It's not normal for those kinds of animals to be in the same place at the same time. As I scoured through the wood, there I saw one of the most amazing battles I have ever seen. A bear, a crow, an eagle, and other animals of the forest were fighting alongside each other against a hoard of orcs. Right in the center of the battle was a figure of pure light. I could not pierce through the glow that surrounded her, but she worked in coordination with the animals as she fought her enemies. It was a breath-taking scene to behold. Never have I seen such a phenomena. As I continued to watch the battle, I noticed from the back an orc archer who was drawing a shaft and ready to shoot at the glowing figure. The glowing figure did not notice this. The heat of the battle was keeping her mind. I had to do something to help the glowing figure. I thought of the old songs I have read from libraries in Bree. Although I have not tried them before, it was worth to know if they mean anything. I took my lute and strum a few notes along with the correct incantation. There a burst of swords came rushing to the Orc Archer, stabbing him on all four corners of his body. The glowing figure noticed my presence, there the light surrounding her dissipated. It was an elf-maiden. The battle continued on the until the orcs began to flee.
